Karen Shinn has been working with seniors most of her life… and now she is one! She’s had careers in recreation, politics, marketing, sales and customer service and loves chasing “shiny objects”! When Karen discovered senior move management, she knew she’d found her rightful place in the world! In 2009, Karen and Business Partner, Gail Shields merged their individual companies to create Downsizing Diva – the first Canadian Senior Move Management Company to become a franchise operation. Next, they became actively involved in NASMM – National Association of Senior & Specialty Move Managers –and were NASMM A+ Accredited. In 2018, they were awarded NASMM’s prestigious Margit Novack Award for excellence in Senior Move Management. Karen and Gail figured they knew so much about downsizing and moving that they could write a book! So, they did. They are published authors of “GO! The Essential Guide to Organizing and Moving”, now being revised as an e-book! For more than 20 years, The Divas have been helping their clients downsize, move, live-in-place and clear estates, with care, compassion and, sometimes comedy.
