AgeTech at Home

The future of aging in place means a more livable space that increases autonomy, ensures connectedness and helps us remain healthy at home.  Technology has an important role to play in helping to achieve this. Over the last five years, AGE-WELL has worked to support innovation in technology for aging by funding researchers and innovators while bringing together stakeholders in industry, community and government.  Throughout, there has always been a strong focus on extending the ability to stay in one’s home. This session will cover the innovative technologies and initiatives coming out of the AGE-WELL network that will transform life at home for Canadian seniors across Canada.

AGE-WELL NCE is a pan-Canadian network of industry, non-profit organizations, government, care providers, caregivers, end-users, and academic partners working together to drive innovation and create technologies and services that benefit older adults and caregivers. Our vision is to harness and build upon the potential of emerging and advanced technologies in areas such as artificial intelligence, e-health, information communication technologies, and mobile technologies to stimulate technological, social, and policy innovation.

Michael Chrostowski, PhD is the Business Development and Industry Relations Manager at AGE-WELL NCE, Canada’s technology and aging network. Michael works with researchers, startups and industry partners to help AGE-WELL bring innovations into the lives of older Canadians and caregivers. Having formerly grown a successful startup venture in healthcare, Michael often looks to help entrepreneurs on their own startup journey and has a particular interest in technology as a tool to improve the health and wellbeing of others.
